Bar Rafaeli Learns Belly Dancing

Leonardo DiCaprio's ex girlfriend Bar Rafaeli has posted that she is learning belly dancing in Greece. Rafaeli, who hails from Israel, has tweeted that she has taken up belly dancing as her latest hobby. Bar Rafaeli posted pictures as well as updates of her recent Mediterranean tour which included her attempting belly dancing in Greece. Currently dating businessman David Fisher, Rafaeli had travelled to Sardinia in July with him, and then later went on to Mykonos with friends. Reprts said that the Israeli beauty was displaying her newly acquired belly dancing skills at a beach party on Mykonos, to the delight of male fans surrounding her. The Sports Illustrated and Maxim cover model tweeted, "Belly dancing in Greece!…or at least, trying to".

Alameda’s  Rhythmix Cultural Works to Celebrate Belly Dance Day

The Fire and Ice extravaganza, part of the Rhythmix cultural festival in Alameda, California, is all set to celebrate "Belly Dance Day". The show taking place on Sunday, 28th of August will showcase top-notch, award winning belly dance performances. All forms of belly dance viz. modern, classic, fusion and contemporary belly dance will be performed at the show. Famous dancer Miriam Peretz will perform a Persian variation of belly dance.
Belly dance, which is a "Western"-coined name for a traditional "Middle Eastern" dance, has grown in popularity since the advent of the decade, especially in America. Other performances at Rhythmix will include Oriental belly dance by Persian American Dancer Shabnam Shirvani, and an artistic taqsim by the Acro Belly-Dance Trio.

Dance School in Mountainside Offers New Classes

A dance school in Mountainside is offering Ballroom and Latin dancing to children and adults. This dance school teaches dancing to people of all ages and levels.
Dance Studio 22 is perhaps the only dance school in New Jersey which specializes in teaching Ballroom and Latin dancing to young children. The dance school is now offering two new classes which will begin in September. The "Tiny Steps" and the "Mommy and Me" classes will try and introduce dance at the youngest age. The former class will teach children in the age of 2-4 years while the latter will be for babies and infants. These programs will act as a platform for many of them who may want to pursue more classes that the dance school has to offer.
The school boasts of experienced and award winning instructors who have many accolades like US National Champion and Finalists in Ballroom and Latin dancing and who have performed in many places around the world. Private lessons are also available for those who may want special individual attention. Registration has to be fast since the seats fill up early.
